Andrew the Rock Star

Monday, May 26, 2008

This morning started out with a trip to Urgent Care. Not for any of my boys (thank goodness) but for Eric. His foot has been bothering him the last few days and it started swelling yesterday. I didn't think to much about it but I guess he got no sleep last night, I on the other hand slept like a log. So he gets up and decides he needs to get it checked out, you know it is bad if he actually wants to go to the doctor.
Well the doctor took one look at his foot and said "You have a classic case of GOUT!" Eric is now officially feeling old, since he thought only old people, like his dad and brother get it. Needless to say he has not been feeling to good today and is now in bed. Poor baby.
That was a good way to start off our Memorial Day huh! We then had to take my nephew and his friend to EFY and then we went miniature golfing, always entertaining with little ones and of course we had to spend time in the arcade. Who needs tokens when there are motorcycles to sit on and pretend with. I think it kept them entertained for about 20 minutes after they spent all of their tokens.

Joshy and his preschool teacher Ms. Mikki. He loved going to preschool this year and learned so many things. He knows a lot of his letters and loves to find and spell things for us all the time.

Not a lot happened in the last week. Saturday we went to my brothers house and the kids did the slip n slide and pool thing. I don't think mine have ever been on a slip n slide before. They had lots of fun, until they were too cold to go any longer.
I finally figured out how to do a slide show so I thought this was a fun way to show off the pictures. My favorite is the shot of Alex slipping but not quite down on the slide. Camera got the right move for once.
I have a video that I working on getting posted but don't quite have it all figured out yet. Will get it posted soon.

Lots has happened in the last week. Two of my brother in laws graduated with their Masters from BYU so family was in town to celebrate. We had fun going to the the zoo with grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was a little cold out but the kids had a great time. Although I am not so sure Alex did. He wasn't sure what he wanted why we were there but Aunt Cheri set him on top of the stroller and he was content eating Swedish goldfish and raisins.
My sister Jenny also graduated from College so the boys and I headed down to California to be there for that. Even after waking up in the hotel room at 4 am we had a good time hanging out with Grammie and Poppa. The boys love to ride the bikes outside and play with the puppies.
And of course on Monday, Andrew celebrated his 8th birthday. He was up at 6:30 bouncing on my bed and singing Happy Birthday to himself!! This from the boy who can never get up. He got to go get donuts with dad for breakfast and then went to see Ironman with dad in the afternoon. We topped off his day with a party for him. Family and neighbors joined in on the fun. He said he had a great day even though he was not in charge of what we got to do and when during his party. he thought that he should be since he was the "birthday king" as he told me. The joys of being 8. He gets baptized on May 31st and we are looking forward to that day.
Just another busy week here but we love it and are enjoying the warm weather we have had for 2 whole days. We will take what we can get right?

Hanging out with the alligators at Hogle Zoo!

As close as we will ever get to a tiger

I think Alex had a little too much juice and milk during Church. He could barely walk home with his diaper falling around his knees.

DOG PILE!!!!

Andrew taking Princess and Peaches for a ride.

Alex and Grandpa taking the dogs for a walk

Jenny graduated from College. The boys were not used to so much sun. We left Utah and it was snowing and came to California and we were so hot!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

I can't believe that we have an 8 year old. They grow up way to fast
